The right to education

The right to education is socio-economic right which is realized progressively. At european level, the right to education is enjoying a wide recognition in legislation: article 2 of the additional Protocol No. 1 to the Convetia for the protection of human rights and Fundamental Freedoms provides for the right to education in its own right, Directive 2000/43/EC of the European Union, implementing the principle of equal treatment between persons irrespective of racial or ethnic origin, specifically regulates the right to education.

In Romania, article 32 from Constitution enshrine the right to education what is ensured by the general compulsory education through secondary education and the professional, through higher education, as well as through training and other forms of training.
